Purchasing and Inventory Specialist

The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.  This includes receiving and assisting with inventory, providing administrative assistance to internal and external customers and other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing products and coordinating availability of inventory for upcoming projects
  • Receives purchase requisitions and requests from managers, researches vendors, quality, specifications, price availability and transportation to make decisions on purchases
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Shipping products to clients
  • Proofreads and ensures accuracy of detailed orders and purchase requests
  • Manages inventory coming in and going out
  • Year-end physical inventory counts
  • May answer incoming phone calls, assist customers over the phone with material purchases
  • Enter orders promptly with high accuracy
  • Data entry of inventory
  • Enter project submittals
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and as a part of a team
  • Attention to detail and well organized
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize problems and multiple demands

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Primarily indoor work
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer
